Swords and sabers
The knight's sword developed during the early Middle Ages from the straight-bladed Viking sword that was widespread throughout Europe and was usually carried with a shield. The technique of the fighting sword with its curved blades is significantly different from the cutting technique of the oriental saber or samurai swords from the Far East. A saber is a cutting weapon, it usually has a curved shape with a blade on one side, but it can also be straight and double-sided. In history, it was very popular and used from the Middle Ages to the beginning of the 20th century.
