Monocells C and D charging
Single cell C and D nickel metal hydride accumulators (NIMH) are one of the most commonly used accumulators of electrical energy. Compared to similar nickel-cadmium (NiCd) batteries, they have approximately twice the capacity. The main reasons for their wide spread are the considerably large capacity and the ability to deliver a relatively large current along with an affordable price. A certain limitation is their voltage of 1.2 V, which is lower than the voltage of ordinary disposable batteries with 1.5 V, which it can replace in a number of cases, but not always. They do not have a memory effect, in the cold they have a much smaller capacity.
