This model of the universal angle meter LASER PRO replaced the previous MASTER and differs from it in appearance and design. For example, the new version has no flexible wire connection between the laser and the power board. Now both the board and the laser are rigidly mounted in a single ring structure. However, the main feature of the new model is the interchangeable scales and the correspondingly different width of the blade that can be measured. What unites these models is the common base on which they are built. At the moment it is the most interesting and advanced model of the angle gauge. It has a sharpening measurement range of up to 74 degrees (total angle).

f you have purchased a LASER PRO-50 and later you need to measure wider blades, you don't need to buy a new angle gauge, you just need to buy a new scale and replace it yourself, it is very easy to do it - the scale is fixed with two M3 screws. It fits perfectly into its place thanks to its guides.

Two powerful magnets allow you to hold the blade on the angle gauge or the angle gauge itself on the blade, depending on the size of the latter. It is most convenient to operate the handle for moving the blade horizontally (it is located on the rear panel of the device) with the edge of the index or middle finger when you hold the angle gauge in your hands. The most correct holding of the angle gauge is done with the thumb of the left hand at the top and the index and middle fingers at the bottom. The fingers should preferably be placed in the area of the screws that fasten the halves of the overlays through the rack. If the blade is large, it is even easier to hold the blade itself with your hand, and the angle gauge will be perfectly and securely held on it. The procedure for measuring is written on the front of the angle gauge, so no instructions are included - they are always on the device.

On the photo you can clearly see both the feeds to the RK and the micro-feeds. The division value of the large scale is 0.5 degrees. It was possible to mark through 0.1 degrees, but there is no practical sense in it, because the reflection itself takes about a degree in width. Nevertheless, one can safely read the sharpening angle readings and even some asymmetry of the sharpening. In reality the picture is much brighter than in the photo. It's just very difficult to actually photograph the laser beam because of the way it is. The range of horizontal displacement of the blade is 10 mm. The range of scale rotation is +-10 degrees. This is more than enough for any blade geometries and any reasonable thicknesses. The wheel itself is lubricated with silicone grease where it mates with the panel elements, which provides smoothness and low force based on viscous friction. This results in a high smoothness of rotation and the inability to move and rattle randomly. To protect the blade from scratches, I recommend putting pieces of duct tape or painter's tape over the magnets before measuring. Make sure to use two separate pieces. Do not forget to turn off the device after measurements - this will prevent a senseless discharge of the battery, although it will not cause any harm to the laser.
